Since being founded in 1977 as the
Association of Korean Businesswomen, The Korean Women
Entrepreneurs Association has worked to enhance and protect the
position and interests of women entrepreneurs. Today, we have
firmly solidified our position as the recognized leader among
Korean women entrepreneurs organizations in helping us achieve
our goals.
KWEA holds a variety of events throughout the year, including
The Korean Businesswomen's Day event, exhibitions of quality
products of women-owned businesses, and competition among women
just starting their businesses.
KWEA also provides such as a nationwide leadership training
program for businesswomen and an information-oriented education
program, and dispatches businesswomen to successful foreign
companies to observe their operations and receive training. In a
move to prompt women-owned start-ups, KWEA operates a separate
unit dedicated to helping women wanting to start their own
business. KWEA supports businesswomen in many ways and is
achieving a remarkable record of success in boosting women
economic development through small business ownership.
In the 21st century, we are pursuing quality improvement and
embracing the emotional quotient (EQ) era. In other words, we
focused on quantity growth relying on IQ, but the transition
toward knowledge-and information-based industries seems to
require a new paradigm from women resources, calling the century
the Pink Era. That means a wide range of industries in which
women are involved, with their intelligence, work ethic, and
sensitivity, are expected to flourish in the 21st Century. Those
industries are fashion, jewelry, and industrial design. The
association will stay at the forefront in helping women achieve
greater entrepreneurial success and independence.
With the governments support, KWEA will continue its all-out
efforts to encourage women economic empowerment and lead women
to take advantage of their unique characteristics through
economic activities. We will also strengthen the competitiveness
of women-owned Korean businesses in the international market and
globalize KWEA through networking with other businesswomen
associations and economic organizations around the world.
KWEA exists to help improve the lives and economic conditions of
Korean women, and woman entrepreneurs. We will continue to serve
as your source of business, legal, and personal information and
inspiration. Thank you.
